ABSTRACT

Thyroid scintigraphy plays an important role in the functional evaluation of a variety of thyroid disorders. Properly performed imaging of the thyroid tissue provides a non-invasive diagnosis in the care of patients with thyroid gland diseases. This guideline is intended to assist nuclear medicine practitioners in recommending and performing a thyroid scintigraphy as well as in interpreting and reporting the results.
