Abstract
This guide outlines the current recommended dosimetry guidelines for the treatment of benign thyroid diseases, such as Graves’ disease and toxic adenoma, using radioactive iodine iodine-131. In this article, patient preparation, measurement setup, uptake probe, measurement methods, calculation techniques, and potential sources of error required for dosimetry are discussed. Additionally, two different patient cases with dosimetry-based treatment dose calculations are presented for routine clinical practice.
