ABSTRACT

Renal function measurement and renal imaging using radionuclidic methods have a long history. Since 1950s, estimation of glomerular function and tubular function were possible using several radiopharmaceuticals. Later, scintigraphic imaging of kidneys, ureters and bladder were carried out. This review discusses the devolepment and evoluation of the nuclear medicine methods for the estimation and imaging of nephrourologic function.
