Abstract
Positron emission tomography (PET) has routinely been performed as a hybrid imaging method with computed tomography (CT) for attenuation correction and anatomical localization. However, in the last decade, PET imaging has been utilized with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) instead of CT in the evaluation of organs that is needed a high soft tissue resolution, firstly in research and in the last years in clinical practice. Since MRI is the gold standard method of the evaluation of liver malignancies, liver tumors have become one of the most interested malignancies for the potential of the hybrid PET/MRI systems. In this review we aimed to present the literature of PET/MRI in liver tumors with case examples.
